  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet and white chocolate)
  • Optional: Halloween-themed sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream the butter and sugars together in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Combine the dry ingredients in a separate bowl and mix well.
  5. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and optional sprinkles.
  7. Scoop the dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  8. Add sprinkles on top if desired.
  9. Bake for 9-11 minutes until edges are golden, centers slightly soft.
  10. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a chewy texture, ensure not to overbake. You can freeze the cookie dough and bake from frozen.
