Spider Deviled Eggs

A spook-tacular twist on the classic deviled eggs, perfect for Halloween parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large eggs
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ cup sliced black olives
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil the eggs: Start by placing your eggs in a medium pot and covering them with cold water. Bring the water to a full boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, cover the pot and remove it from the heat. Set a timer for 10-12 minutes.
  2. Cool the eggs: After your timer goes off, quickly transfer the eggs to an ice water bath. Let them sit for about 5-10 minutes.
  3. Peel the eggs: Gently tap each egg on a hard surface to crack the shell, then peel under running water.
  4. Prepare the filling: Slice each egg in half lengthwise and scoop out the yolks into a mixing bowl. Add the mayo, mustard, salt, and pepper to the yolks. Mash everything together until creamy.
  5. Fill the egg whites: Using a piping bag or a small spoon, fill each egg white half with the yolk mixture.
  6. Make the olives spiders: Slice black olives in half for the body and cut other slices into strips for spider legs. Place them atop the filled eggs.
  7. Chill: Let your deviled eggs chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute Greek yogurt for mayonnaise. You can create variations with spicy or herbed additions.
