Irresistibly Decadent Cherry Chocolate Chip Poke Cake Delight

A rich and chocolatey poke cake bursting with cherries and topped with whipped cream and mini chocolate chips.

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 jar (10 oz) maraschino cherries (drained and chopped)
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (Cool Whip) (thawed)
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (for garnish)
  • Additional maraschino cherries (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the chocolate cake mix and the ingredients listed on the box in a large bowl, mixing according to package instructions.
  3. Fold 1 cup of mini chocolate chips into your batter.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool the cake in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then poke holes all over with a wooden spoon handle.
  7. Pour sweetened condensed milk over the poked cake, filling in the holes.
  8. Sprinkle the chopped maraschino cherries evenly over the top.
  9. Spread the thawed whipped topping over the cake.
  10. Garnish with the remaining chocolate chips and additional cherries.
  11. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Pair with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or drizzle hot fudge for an extra delicious treat.
