4th of July Monster Cookies

Festive and delicious monster cookies perfect for your 4th of July celebrations, filled with chocolate and M&Ms.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup browned butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup M&Ms
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring until it turns a rich amber color.
  2. Mix the browned butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time and whisk until well blended, then fold in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually add to the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Fold in the oats, chocolate chips, M&Ms, and nuts if using, being gentle not to over-mix.
  6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) on a lined baking sheet for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden.
  8. Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Chilling the dough enhances flavor and texture. Feel free to add your favorite mix-ins.
