Maple Mustard Chicken

A flavorful dish that combines sweet maple and zesty mustard to elevate ordinary chicken breasts into a gourmet experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 Chicken Breasts
  • 1/4 cup Maple Syrup
  • 1/4 cup Mustard (Dijon or Whole Grain)
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste
  • A splash of Olive Oil
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (like parsley or thyme)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Whisk the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together the maple syrup and mustard until combined. Adjust to your taste.
  3. Sear the Chicken: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Once hot, cook the chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Glaze Time: Pour the maple mustard mixture over the chicken when it’s almost cooked through and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Check for Doneness: Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken has reached 165°F (75°C), or cut into the thickest part to check.
  6. Rest the Chicken: Remove from the skillet and let it rest for about 5 minutes.
  7. Finishing Touches: Drizzle remaining sauce over the chicken and garnish with fresh herbs. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

For a spicy kick, add cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes. Incorporate lemon juice for a citrus note or sautéed mushrooms for an earthy flavor.
