  • 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream the butter and sugar: Combine softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Combine the wet and dry ingredients: Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.
  6. Fold in the sliced strawberries gently with a spatula.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool the cake for 10 minutes in the pan before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
