  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×5 inch loaf pan by greasing it with butter or non-stick spray.
  3. Mash the ripe bananas in a large bowl until smooth.
  4. Mix in the melted butter, sugar, and brown sugar until combined.
  5. Beat in the eggs one at a time and then stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Sift together the cocoa powder, flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  7. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet banana mixture gently until just mixed.
  8. Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving some for topping.
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  10. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  11. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
