Easy Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

A warm and comforting banana bread studded with gooey chocolate chips, perfect for using up overripe bananas.

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mash the bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
  3. Mix in the melted butter.
  4. Stir in the baking soda and salt until combined.
  5. Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract; stir until well combined.
  6. Add the flour gently and mix until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips, being careful not to overmix.
  8. Pour the batter into a greased 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  9. Bake for 50-60 minutes, checking doneness with a toothpick.
  10. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Try adding nuts or spices like cinnamon for variations. This bread can also be frozen for later enjoyment.
