Monster Mac and Cheese

A spooky and fun twist on classic mac and cheese, perfect for Halloween gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Edible candy eyes

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Boil salted water and cook the elbow macaroni until al dente, about 7-8 minutes. Drain and toss with olive oil.
  2. Make the Cheese Sauce: Melt butter, add flour to create a roux, then slowly whisk in milk. Stir until thick and add cheeses.
  3. Combine: Fold in cooked macaroni until coated in sauce. Adjust thickness with more milk if needed.
  4. Get Baking: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer to a greased baking dish, top with cheese, cover with foil, and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake until golden brown.
  5. Add the Finishing Touches: Cool slightly and decorate with edible candy eyes.

Notes

Feel free to add pumpkin puree for a seasonal twist or mix in protein for a heartier dish.
