Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A quick and simple pasta dish featuring spaghetti tossed in sautéed garlic, olive oil, and red chili flakes, perfect for a cozy weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz Spaghetti
  • 4 cloves Fresh Garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chili Flakes
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black Pepper, freshly cracked, to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve a cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Sauté the minced garlic in olive oil over medium heat until golden and fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add the red chili flakes to the skillet, stirring to combine.
  4. Combine the drained spaghetti with the garlic and chili oil in the skillet, mixing well and adding reserved pasta water as needed for consistency.
  5. Garnish with chopped parsley and a crack of black pepper, tossing everything until well combined.

Notes

For a twist, add lemon zest, sautéed vegetables, or protein like grilled chicken or shrimp.
