One Pot Creamy Mac and Cheese

A creamy, dreamy one-pot mac and cheese recipe that satisfies your cheesy cravings without the hassle.

  • 2 cups uncooked macaroni or pasta of your choice
  • 3 cups water
  • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2.5 cups sharp cheddar (freshly grated)
  • 2 cups mozzarella (freshly grated)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1.5 tbsp paprika (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1.5 tsp sugar

Instructions

  1. Boil the water and salt in a large pot. Once boiling, add the uncooked macaroni and cook according to package instructions (8–10 minutes).
  2. Drain the pasta and set aside.
  3. Create the sauce by adding the heavy whipping cream, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, mustard, and sugar to the same pot. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  4. Add the sharp cheddar and mozzarella gradually, stirring until melted and smooth.
  5. Combine the drained macaroni back into the pot, stirring until every piece is coated in cheese sauce.
  6. Taste and adjust seasonings to your liking.
  7. Serve immediately while hot and enjoy!

Notes

For a twist, consider adding cooked bacon, veggies like spinach or broccoli, or a spicy kick with jalapeños.
