Turkey Chili Bowl

A warm and hearty turkey chili that’s easy to make and packed with bold flavors, perfect for cold days and gatherings.

  • 1 lb Ground Turkey
  • 2 cans Beans (black beans, kidney beans, or pinto beans)
  • 1 can Tomatoes (crushed or diced)
  • 2 tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 Onion (chopped)
  • 2 Garlic cloves (minced)
  • 12 Bell Peppers (diced)
  • Olive Oil

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Chop fresh veggies like onion, garlic, and bell peppers.
  2. Brown the turkey: In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat a bit of olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground turkey and cook until lightly browned (about 5-7 minutes).
  3. Add aromatics: Toss in chopped onions and bell peppers, sauté until slightly softened (about 3-5 minutes).
  4. Spice it up: Sprinkle in chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, and paprika and let the spices bloom for a minute.
  5. Add the canned goods: Pour in tomatoes and drained beans, stir and bring to a gentle simmer.
  6. Simmer away: Lower the heat, cover and let it simmer for at least 20-30 minutes.
  7. Taste and adjust: Before serving, taste and season with salt and pepper as needed.

Notes

For extra richness, add a splash of chicken or vegetable broth. For thickening, simmer uncovered for a while.
