Sweet Mango Lassi

A refreshing, velvety Indian drink made with ripe mangoes, creamy yogurt, and a hint of saffron, perfect for cooling down on hot days.

Ingredients

  • 23 ripe mangoes
  • 1 cup yogurt (Greek or regular)
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of saffron
  • Honey or sugar (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the mangoes by peeling and chopping them into about 2 cups of pieces.
  2. Blend the chopped mangoes with the yogurt, salt, saffron, and sweetener until smooth.
  3. Add water or milk if a thinner consistency is desired and blend again.
  4. Taste the lassi and adjust sweetness as necessary.
  5. Chill the lassi in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  6. Serve in glasses, garnished with saffron or mint leaves if desired.

Notes

For a vegan version, substitute yogurt with coconut or almond yogurt and honey with maple syrup.
