Cream Cheese Puff Pastry

A delightful cream cheese-filled pastry that’s light, flaky, and perfect for any occasion.

  • 2 sheets puff pastry
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened (226 grams)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (50 grams)
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • Berries, jam, or any fruits
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1/4 cup coarse sugar
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (62.5 grams)
  • 1 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry if needed.
  3. Prepare the cream cheese mixture by blending softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, egg yolk, lemon juice, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Cut the pastry into squares.
  5. Fill each square with the cream cheese mixture.
  6. Add berries or jam on top of the cream cheese.
  7. Seal the pastry by folding over and pressing edges together.
  8. Brush with egg wash for a golden color.
  9. Sprinkle with coarse sugar.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.
  11. Make the icing by mixing powdered sugar and milk.
  12. Cool the pastries and drizzle icing on top.
