Refreshingly Sweet Blueberry Lemonade

A vibrant and refreshing blueberry lemonade that perfectly balances sweet and tart flavors, making it an ideal summer drink.

  • 1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • ½ cup sugar (more or less to taste)
  • Juice of 45 lemons (about ¾ cup juice)
  • Peels of 23 lemons (optional)
  • 1 cup water (for simple syrup)
  • 4 cups water (for lemonade)
  • Mint leaves, lemon peels, and slices, blueberries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine 1 cup of water with ½ cup of sugar in a small saucepan.
  2. Bring it to a gentle boil over medium heat while stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Prepare the blueberries by rinsing fresh ones or letting frozen ones sit for a few minutes.
  4. Place the blueberries in a blender and puree until smooth. Strain if desired.
  5. Juice the lemons and strain to eliminate seeds and pulp if preferred.
  6. Mix blueberry puree, lemon juice, and cooled simple syrup in a large pitcher. Add 4 cups of water and stir.
  7. Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
  8. Serve over ice, garnished with mint, lemon slices, or blueberries.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding lemon peels to the mixture for a few hours before serving. Adjust sweetness and tartness to preference.
