Maple Glazed Apple Blondies

A sweet fall treat combining the best flavors of autumn with a delightful maple glaze.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 large apples (chopped finely)
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract for glaze
  • 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon for glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Sauté the apples in a skillet with butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon for 4-5 minutes.
  3. Mix the dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
  4. Cream the butter, granulated sugar, and dark brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time and then the vanilla extract.
  6. Combine the dry and wet ingredients until just mixed.
  7. Fold in the sautéed apples gently.
  8. Bake for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Mix the ingredients for the glaze in a bowl.
  10. Cool the blondies and then drizzle the glaze over the top.

Notes

Serve warm, best enjoyed with vanilla ice cream or coffee.
