Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare your cake pan by greasing and flouring a 9-inch round cake pan.
  3. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  4. Cream softened butter in a large bowl, then gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Mix in the lemon juice, zest, and lavender until incorporated.
  7. Alternate adding the dry ingredients and buttermilk, starting with flour.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  11. Frost or serve with powdered sugar once cooled.
