Ghost Meringues

Delightful and spooky Ghost Meringues, perfect for Halloween gatherings. Light and airy treats, easy to make and fun to decorate.

Ingredients

  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (extra)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice or vinegar
  • Mini chocolate chips (for decorating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°F (90°C).
  2. Prepare your baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
  3. Whip the egg whites in a clean bowl using an electric mixer, starting on low and increasing to medium-high until soft peaks form (3-5 minutes).
  4. Add the sugar gradually, one tablespoon at a time, while continuing to whip.
  5. Incorporate the lemon juice or vinegar and mix on low speed for about 30 seconds.
  6. Pipe the meringue into ghost shapes on the parchment paper.
  7. Decorate each ghost with mini chocolate chips for eyes.
  8. Bake for about 2 hours until dry, then turn off the oven and cool completely inside.
  9. Serve your delightful Ghost Meringues on a platter to enjoy!
