  • 1 cup dulce de leche
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin (optional)
  • 3 tablespoons water (if using gelatin)

Instructions

  1. Bloom the Gelatin (if using) – In a small bowl, combine the gelatin with the water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it swells.
  2. Whip the cream – In a large mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream with an electric mixer until soft peaks form, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add dulce de leche – Gently fold in the dulce de leche and vanilla extract with a spatula.
  4. Incorporate gelatin (if using) – Microwave the bloomed gelatin for about 10 seconds to liquefy, then stir it into the mousse mixture.
  5. Season with salt – Add the salt and fold it in well.
  6. Chill in the fridge – Transfer the mousse into cups or a large bowl, cover, and let it chill for at least 2-4 hours.

Notes

Top with whipped cream, sea salt, or shaved chocolate for serving. Enjoy with fresh berries or extra dulce de leche.
