Mango Salsa

A vibrant and refreshing mango salsa recipe perfect for dipping, topping, or as a side dish.

  • 2 ripe mangos (peeled and diced)
  • 1 onion or shallot (finely chopped; preferably red onion)
  • 1 jalapeño pepper (finely chopped; or habanero for added spice)
  • ½ bell pepper (chopped)
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil (or avocado oil)
  • 1 lime (juiced; about 2 ½ teaspoons of juice)
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt or pink salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prep Your Ingredients: Gather all ingredients for easy assembly.
  2. Dice Your Mangos: Peel and chop the mangos into bite-sized pieces.
  3. Chop the Onion: Finely chop your onion or shallot.
  4. Prepare the Jalapeño: Remove seeds for milder salsa, then chop finely.
  5. Chop the Bell Pepper & Cilantro: Add chopped bell pepper and cilantro to the bowl.
  6. Mash the Garlic: Mince the garlic clove.
  7. Combine Everything: In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients.
  8. Add the Dressing: Drizzle olive oil and lime juice over the mixture, and season.
  9. Refrigerate for Flavor Infusion: Cover and chill for at least 30 minutes.

Notes

Great as a topping for tacos or served with chips. Experiment with adding fruits or different herbs.
