Strawberry Pretzel Jello Salad

A sweet and salty summer delight that features a crunchy pretzel crust, creamy filling, and fresh strawberries.

  • 2 1/2 cups pretzels, coarsely chopped
  • 1/4 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 16 ounces Tru Whip or Cool Whip
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated white sugar
  • 6 ounces instant strawberry jello
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 quart strawberries, hulled and sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine pretzels, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Mix well until evenly coated. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish and bake for about 10 minutes. Allow to cool completely.
  2. Beat cream cheese and sugar together until smooth. Fold in the whipped topping gently. Spread the cream cheese layer atop the cooled crust.
  3. Dissolve the strawberry Jello powder in boiling water until fully mixed. Add the sliced strawberries and let cool slightly. Pour the mixture over the cream cheese layer.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

Notes

This dish can be made ahead of time and tastes better after a night in the refrigerator.
