Easy Halloween Sugar Cookies

Delightful and customizable sugar cookies perfect for Halloween festivities.

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Food coloring (green, orange, purple, black)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line a couple of baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  5. Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
  6. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  7. Divide your dough into portions, and add food coloring to each portion.
  8. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll them into balls, and place them on the prepared baking sheets.
  9. Bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
  10. Let the cookies sit on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.

Notes

Feel free to add chocolate chips or sprinkles for extra fun!
