Cinnamon Plum Jam

A delightful low-sugar jam bursting with the flavors of ripe plums and warm cinnamon, perfect for spreading on toast or enjoying by the spoonful.

  • 4 cups chopped plums
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 1/2 tablespoons Ball Low Sugar Pectin
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Prepare your jars and equipment by sterilizing them.
  2. Chop the plums into small pieces.
  3. Combine chopped plums, lemon juice, and cinnamon in a large pot.
  4. Add the pectin and stir well.
  5. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil.
  6. Once boiling, add sugar all at once and stir until dissolved.
  7. Check the thickness using a spoonful on a chilled plate.
  8. Fill the prepared jars with hot jam.
  9. Seal the jars and process in a boiling water bath.
  10. Listen for the pop indicating a proper seal.

Notes

For best results, use ripe plums and ensure you do not overcook the jam to maintain the perfect consistency. Experiment with additional flavors like herbs or alternative sweeteners.
