Authentic Greek Salad

A refreshing and vibrant Greek salad bursting with fresh ingredients, perfect as a side or a light meal.

  • 3 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup cucumber, diced
  • 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup Kalamata olives
  • 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep Your Veggies: Start by giving your romaine lettuce a good rinse under cold water and then chop it into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Dice and Slice: Dice your tomatoes, slice your cucumber, and thinly slice your red onion.
  3. Toss It Together: In a large bowl, throw in the romaine, diced tomatoes, cucumber, and red onion. Give this a gentle toss to mix.
  4. The Feta and Olives: Crumble your feta cheese over the top and toss in the Kalamata olives.
  5. Create the Dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, red wine vinegar, oregano, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  6. Dress the Salad: Drizzle the dressing over your salad just before serving and gently toss to coat.
  7. Final Touch: Give it a quick taste and adjust salt or vinegar if necessary.

Notes

This salad can be made in advance; prepare the vegetables but keep the dressing separate until serving.
