Anna Paul’s Viral Turkish Pasta

A creamy and flavorful Turkish pasta dish that’s perfect for comfort food lovers and easy enough for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups Greek yogurt
  • 4 garlic cloves (grated)
  • Juice from ½ lemon
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 yellow onion (diced)
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika
  • Cherry tomatoes (halved)
  • Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • Feta cheese (crumbled)
  • 12 oz cooked pasta (like fusilli or penne)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add your favorite pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about a cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  2. Make the Yogurt Sauce: In a medium bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated garlic, lemon juice, and salt to taste. Mix it well until you have a creamy, smooth sauce.
  3. Sauté the Ground Beef: In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the diced onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened. Then add the ground beef, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned, which should take about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Flavor it Up: Sprinkle in the sweet paprika, garlic powder, cumin, and season with salt and pepper. Stir everything together and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add Tomato Paste: Stir in tomato paste, letting it caramelize slightly to deepen the flavor.
  6. Combine Everything: Toss in the cooked pasta into the skillet with the beef mixture until well combined.
  7. Finish with Yogurt: Remove from heat and fold in the yogurt sauce until all pieces are coated.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Top with halved cherry tomatoes, crumbled feta cheese, and fresh parsley.
