Ambrosia Fruit Salad

A classic fruit salad combining juicy fruits, sweet marshmallows, and creamy dressing for a delightful dessert.

  • 1 (20-oz.) can pineapple chunks, drained
  • 1 (16-oz.) jar maraschino cherries, drained
  • 2 cups green grapes
  • 2 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1 1/3 cups sweetened flaked coconut
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 (15-oz.) can mandarin oranges, drained

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients by gathering all your ingredients on the counter and draining canned fruits.
  2. Chop and slice fresh pineapple or oranges into bite-sized pieces, wash grapes, and prepare them according to your preference.
  3. In a large bowl, combine your drained pineapple, mandarin oranges, halved grapes, maraschino cherries, and mini marshmallows.
  4. Toss in the sweetened flaked coconut and chopped nuts, ensuring they’re evenly distributed.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the sour cream with a hint of sweetness if desired.
  6. Combine the dressing with the fruit medley and gently fold everything together.
  7. Let the salad chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
  8. Serve in a fun bowl or individual cups, and consider adding a sprinkle of extra nuts on top.

Notes

Can be prepared a day in advance. Stir gently before serving to mix any separated juices.
